Get Rid Of Scorpions Tips
Palm trees and scorpions, especially bark scorpions are a match made in heaven. You may have heard that the Arizona bark scorpion got a foothold in the Las Vegas valley through the import of palm trees from Arizona. Originally, the most scorpion infested neighborhoods in Las Vegas were the ones that had a lot of imported palms. Now, however, bark scorpions are in every Las Vegas and Henderson neighborhood and no part of Las Vegas is Bark scorpion free.
If you have a yard with many palm trees, however, you might have more than your fair share. Especially if you see scorpions around your property through black light hunting and you have palms, it is almost guaranteed that they are living in your palm trees.
To get rid of scorpions or to lower the number of them on your property that has palm trees, you need to take a few steps to make the palm tree less hospitable to scorpions.
Firstly, scorpions like to maintain a temperature. Tall palm trees usually do not have scorpions near the top of the tree because the temperature is not as much to their liking as it is on ground level. They live in the sweet spot which is around 6 feet off the ground. Shaving a palm to about 10 feet helps keep them from taking up permanent residence in your palm tree.
Next have your tree bases treated. You can use Diatomaceous earth around the base and have your exterminator spray the trunk. As scorpions climb up and down your palm tree they will pick up the poison or have their exoskeleton punctured with Diatomaceous earth and that will be game over for the scorpion.
Lastly, if you hunt with black lights, focus attention to the palms themselves and kill any stragglers you may encounter.
Knowing the preferred habitat for the bark scorpion will help you eliminate them. Getting an expert scorpion exterminator’s opinion and help with ensure they stay gone and out of your home.
